If you are obsessed with home decor, like I am, then you’ll want to hit these absolutely adorable home decor stores in Toronto!
Who would trust their favorite home decor YouTuber (Alexandra Gater) and visit all her favorite home decor stores in Toronto? Um…I would, and I did! I hit all 5 of her favorite home decor stores and one plant store she recommended. In this blog post, I will be sharing only the recommended home decor stores in Toronto that I deem worthy of a trek to Toronto. Two to be exact and the plant shop. Though the other few places weren’t my vibe, I did describe them at the end. Far be it for me to completely deny them for someone else.
I seem to never get sick of watching home decor shows, remodel shows, and pawing through home decor stores and shops. Even though I love a good IKEA run, there is something to be said about finding those smaller local shops that can offer a ton of character-building pieces for your rental spaces, or any space for that matter. Characteresque home decor on a budget is all about mixing local finds with box store affordable items to make rental spaces feel more like home.
This post is all about the most adorable home decor stores in Toronto.
1. V de V
797 Dundas Street West Toronto, Ontario M6J 1V2 647-348-3381
This is by far my favorite home decor shop regardless of location! It is perfection in my humble little opinion. I could literally take one of everything, but I won’t. Or should I say, my husband won’t let me 🙂 The bedroom photo at the outset of this post was a setup in this store. My husband was in the back of the store and I found him and said, “Oh my goodness, that bedroom!” And he literally goes, “Yeah, I had a feeling.” LOl! He knows me so well. If that was my bedroom, I’d be totally okay with it!
I love that the small items are totally affordable. I also like that the style isn’t so Canadian that most Americans wouldn’t like it. It is cozier than the typical Canadian style to me. It’s a good mix of boho and mid-century modern, with a splash of traditional and Canadian flare in there. I feel like it is more mature-looking than all of the other home decor stores in Toronto that were mentioned by my YouTuber. I think most people could find something there regardless of their style. It’s always worth a gander even if you get nothing. I mean, a little inspo never kills.
They have plenty of knobs, glassware, dishes, and textiles any renter can add to their space to give it a good facelift without breaking the bank. Although I have not yet purchased any furniture pieces, they look like they are good quality.

2. Juxtapose Home
616 Bloor Street West Toronto, Ontario M6G 1K7 416-901-9825
This place was cute as well. It’s a bit smaller than V de V and doesn’t have furniture pieces. It leaned a bit more into Canadian style giving plants and plant pots prime space in this small shop. It was more juvenile than V de V was, but there are great finds for just about anyone here as well. Some of the glassware I found here and V de V, but for the most part, things were unique to each shop. The girl at the desk was wicked nice and I told her I was going to all of the home decor stores in Toronto that Alexandra Gater recommended. She loved that idea and even listed off a few other places to try if I had time, which I did not, but that was nice of her 🙂
Things to note here I would say are plant pots for sure, glassware, serving dishes, pot holders, dishtowels, Swedish dishcloths, twisted tapered candles, travel candles, and bathroom decor to name a few. It’s definitely worth a stop.

3. Mika
496 College St., Toronto, ON M6G 1A4 416-885-2103
This is actually a plant shop. They have some nice plants at really good prices in my opinion. The owner was really nice and walked me around the shop showing me all the different regional things they had from other locals. She was the sweetest and offered me fresh-brewed green tea that I declined twice before finally accepting a cup to appease her. I really do love green tea, I was just trying to be polite. Then I realized the polite thing was actually to accept it 🙂 Things to look out for here are their plants naturally, their handmade pottery, and locally made candles including honey candles.
I almost bought a plant until the owner realized I was driving across the border and she informed me I cannot take soil across. Instead, I opted for two handmade pottery pieces her husband makes. I got a tiny little vase with dried flowers in it and a mug, which I will pop a picture of below. Mostly, I wanted to support a local place. I will definitely be coming back here again to see what pottery there is.

Home Decor Stores in Toronto I Would Skip
The Apartment Life
Okay, I was really excited for this place too. But I was disappointed. Not only was it off the beaten path a bit, but it was not in a great area. I’m pretty sure a few drug deals happened right in front of the store. When I walked in the place REEKED! Not sure what it was. I’m pretty sure most, if not all of it is secondhand. I mean, I think you could go to any thrift store or Goodwill and find very similar things. Not that I refuse to go to thrift stores, but I have to be in the mood for it and in the mindset to sift. Maybe if you need a specific older or eclectic piece it may be worth going here. But most of it would never fit into my style. To be perfectly honest, I felt like I was on the movie set of Austin Powers…
Easy Tiger
This place was a little hippy-dippy for my taste. It was full of incense, Canadian-like artwork (I find it more cartoony and wordy), and greeting cards. It reminded me of a modern hippy-like take on Spencer Gifts almost. Not my style. If you like that type of stuff though, you may like it.
Rose City Goods
Although I wouldn’t likely revisit this shop it was cute. I really loved the half-circle floating shelves and the open-shelving bookcase. The issue was neither of those items were for sale, the owner had them made for displaying things. I popped a photo of these items above because they were cute. I also took a couple of other photos of the few items I liked.
The girl was super friendly and again she thought it was great I was hitting Alexandra Gater recommended shops. We got chatting about the YouTube channel and the differences in home decor from Canada to the U.S. She asked how it was different and I said, “Well I don’t want to be offensive but I feel like Canadian decor is essentially white walls, plants, and cartoon nudity.” She was like, “Offended?! I LOVE that!” I was like, “Oh, you do?” And we both got laughing, she said it wasn’t offensive at all and she could see how I could come to that conclusion.
TIp: if you do end up at rose city goods or easy tiger there is a cute coffee shop CLOSE BY called run & gun coffee. my mocha latte was delicious!
